Afore SURA has policies in place for money laundering issues that aim to prevent, detect and report suspected transactions with money of illicit origin. With this, local regulatory guidelines on the matter are duly followed, whose basis can be found in the general provisions referred to in Article 108 bis of the Mexican Law on Savings for Retirement, and Article 91 of the Mexican Law on Investment Companies.

These provisions have been established to strengthen the Mexican financial system, and have defined guidelines to prevent, detect and report actions, omissions or transactions that could favor, help, assist or cooperate in any way with the commission of the offense, as per Article 139 of the Mexico’s Criminal Code, or that could be included in the cases set forth under Article 400 bis of Mexico’s Criminal Code.

Thus, Afore SURA’s anti-money laundering policies allow us to know our customers, suppliers, employees, and shareholders, and to fully identify those persons who carry out financial transactions. Also, with the purpose of supporting the authorities against money laundering and the financing of terrorism, we have put in place a standardized and homogeneous process that ranges from the moment a service contract is executed and throughout the permanent monitoring of the transactions carried out in order to prevent, detect and report actions or transactions made with money of illicit origin or that could favor the financing of terrorism.
