Reencuentro de dos colecciones. (We Meet Again. Two
Collections Reunited)
We make special mention of the collaboration with BANAMEX in exhibiting We Meet Again. Two Collections Reunited. The public was presented with the most representative works of art that were once part of a single collection, prior to the expropriation of Mexico’s banks in 1982. SURA assisted with this exhibition by loaning 48 items; it was inaugurated on June 6th and open to the public until April 20, 2025. Additionally, SURA participated in “Museum Nights”, an initiative in which the curator of the collection gave a talk titled “SURA in the World of Culture” on Sept. 25, 2024.

Teodora Blanco / María Izquierdo.
Perceptions of Beauty
Palacio de Iturbide, Mexico City. From October 24, 2023, to March 3, 2024, the work of Teodora Blanco (1928 - 1980) and María Izquierdo (1902 – 1955) were exhibited; the two women are fundamental representatives of Mexican visual arts in the XX century. The purpose of the exhibits was to show how these women shared similar themes in their work, despite not having been contemporaries. SURA collaborated with Fomento Cultural Citibanamex with two works of art by María Izquierdo: 1) “Alacena con paloma” (Pantry with a Dove) and 2) “Niña con sombrero rojo” (Girl with a Red Hat).
